The Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences hosted a research seminar on Wednesday, January 21st, titled “Intentionality Framing in Political Rhetoric About Immigration: A Longitudinal Analysis of U.S. Congressional Speech (1880–2020)”.
Led by Amine Sijilmassi, Post-Doctoral Researcher at FGSES, the seminar explored how intentionality framing in political rhetoric has contributed to the growing moralization and polarization of immigration debates in the United States, highlighting the power of language in shaping political divides.
