On Wednesday, October 29th, the Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences (AIRESS) organized the AIRESS Day, an event that brought together faculty members, researchers, and Ph.D. students to highlight the institute’s research landscape and recent accomplishments.
The session opened with introductory remarks by our Dean Karim El Aynaoui, who emphasized the importance of fostering an active research community and promoting impactful collaboration across disciplines. The program included a roundtable discussion titled “AI in Research: Co-author or Competitor?”, which examined the growing role of artificial intelligence in the research process, from data collection to authorship and analysis.
Throughout the day, AIRESS Ph.D. students presented Flash Talks showcasing their ongoing research projects, sparking rich discussions and promoting the exchange of ideas among participants.
AIRESS Day served as a valuable platform to reflect on current research trends, encourage collaboration, and celebrate the institute’s collective achievements.
