The Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences (AIRESS), in collaboration with the IDRC Research Chair on Forced Displacement at UM6P, hosted a one-day workshop titled "Irregular Crossings and Forced (Im)mobilities in the MENA Region: Trends, Policy Responses and Challenges'' on Friday, June 20th at the UM6P Rabat Campus.
The event brought together distinguished scholars to share preliminary findings from ongoing research on migrants’ decision-making processes related to sea crossings in Morocco and Lebanon. Discussions also addressed regional migration trends, policy responses, and the possibility of publishing an edited volume featuring Global South perspectives on these evolving dynamics.
