The Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences (AIRESS) is hosting the DYNAMIG policy workshop on July 8th and 9th. This event will discuss the initial findings of research with policymakers and migration experts from the focal countries (Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria).
ABSTRACT:
DYNAMIG is a three-year project that aims to create a more thorough understanding of how people make decisions on whether or not to migrate and on how they migrate. Focusing on Africa and Europe, we will analyse to what extent migration policies – or policies that impact migration – take into account the factors that shape migration decisions and look at how effective these policies are in influencing decisions and behaviour.
The country workshops will focus on presenting preliminary findings of the DYNAMIG study focused on understanding the migration decision making process and policies from the perspective or migrants and aspiring migrants as well from national and EU policy makers. The workshops will also share insights on, impact on migration decision-making, and the role of legal migration opportunities to varied destinations in influencing decisions.
